My dream

This animal sanctuary has been my dream since childhood. When I was 11 years old, I told my mother, “When I grow up I want to buy a big house and I am going to help all the animals in the world!” I kept this dream and worked hard, dedicating my life, my personal pleasures, normal relationships, and every penny I could save to fulfill this dream.

With this strong desire in my heart and my love for animals, I am totally aware that I can never go back to a normal life, and that my only reward will be the happy wagging tails of my animals. I invested my life savings in this “big house,” and I started to help animals as they came to me. Some were rescued while others were brought to me.

I’ve been helping animals since I was 7 years old and probably have saved more than 700 in my life. My parents were very kind to allow me to keep feral animals in my room that needed care. I would take them in, feed them, heal them, and then help them find a new place. I was very lucky that my friend Ekala was ready to support me in this ideal, also resigning his personal life.

So–with determination–at the age of 26, I made my childhood dream a reality. I purchased land and started my sanctuary by rescuing a cow destined to be slaughtered. All the animals at Juliana’s Animal Sanctuary were also abandoned, rescued from slaughter, or saved from test laboratories.

We are currently caring for 65 animals (1 cow, 1 ox, 1 horse, 2 pigs, 33 dogs, 12 cats, 5 rabbits, 3 roosters, 4 chickens, 1 quail, and 2 turtles).
